We provide elephant village experiences without any riding activities. We want to make sure the elephants are living a coexistent life with humans and are excited to show you what this entails!
At the same time, we see it as our mission to educate our visitors about the culture of our Karen Hilltribe people- we are an ethnic minority whose lives are closely entangled with that of the elephants.
So, if you are looking for a unique way to experience and learn more about elephant and the local culture, you’ve come to the right place!

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

“The best experience we could have !!!! We stayed overnight and got the chance to really absorb the energy of the place and spend a lot of time with the elephants (feeding them bananas, sugar cane corn and bathing with them in clean water) they became our little family. I had made a lot of research into sanctuaries and am super satisfied with the quality of this place, a REAL ETHICAL place where since 7 generations the family dedicates their life fully to the elephants. You feel the love, devotion and respect. Our room was very simple, looking straight at the elephants. Food was simple, super tasty and very aboundant. During the day we got fruit snack and coffee. Campfire at night to enjoy talking with the other travellers. Would recommend 100% also for kids.”
“We came here last week to the Elephant Freedom Village and the experience was amazing. You can tell that the Karen Tribe takes incredible care of the elephants and has a deep love and respect for them. They explain how the village works and how each elephant is cared for, which makes the experience feel very transparent and educational. What stood out most is how ethical everything is. There is no riding or performances, and the elephants are allowed to roam, eat, and interact naturally in their environment. Overall, it was a magical and meaningful experience. You truly feel like you are witnessing a relationship built on trust and care rather than control. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for an ethical and unforgettable experience with elephants.”
“I highly recommend Elephant Freedom Village! The elephants are treated liked family and the staff was fantastic. Lunch provided was delicious and the driver stopped at a temple on the way back to Chiang Mai for us to see a great view of the farmland below. Truly a wonderful experience. These elephants are living their best life and you can feel their happiness. The employees are passionate about helping and loving these amazing animals.
10/10 experience for me and our party of 6.”
“Hands down the best experience I have had. The staff are so friendly and love to laugh and joke around and to see the love and respect they have for the elephants was just an amazing experience and will be a life long memory I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you all so much!”
“My Experience with Elephant Freedom Village was unforgettable. The moment we reached the farm I was taken aback from the beauty and the peace that it brings. You are in the middle of nowhere surrounded by greenery, hills, and rice paddies. With this tour you are really getting not just the elephants, but introduction to caretaker life and what’s it’s like to live in the mountains.
I think that’s what made this a unique elephant sanctuary experience. They will treat you like family. I would absolutely recommend this tour for anyone wanting a special elephant sanctuary experience.”
